You're from the seventies, but I'm a nineties bitch

So yesterday was my last day at American Apparel; I was very sad indeed, but there was a conflict of interest with Macy's so I had to do it since I will be with Macy's for at least a year.  I definitely hope to be back sometime in the future though, but for now I will just have to satisfy my cravings by shopping in the store.  It was probably the best job I had in retail, mostly because I was able to work with people around my age and I really like their clothes.  If you ever get recruited to work there, you should definitely take up the offer:)  So Tim and I celebrated with dinner at Giovanni Pastrami.  My margarita was almost as expensive as my dinner, so next time I think I'll just have water.

Anyway, its crunch time for graduation and there's still so much to do: internship notebook, program portfolio, powerpoint and oral presentation.  I bought my cap and gown today and I wasn't really excited about it until the cashier said, "congratulations."  That's when it hit me.  I cannot wait to finally be done with school, but I've been in it for so long that I don't know how I'll take having a full time job, but that's life.  In my internship class last week we talked about where we might be in the next 30 years.  I really don't know what I'll be doing that far ahead, but I can say that once I finish my contract with Macy's I may move on to other things.  Who know what the future holds.

Here are some random photos from this past week:

Lauren Moffatt Outerwear

Oh how I wish we had more than two seasons in Hawaii and it was cold enough to wear one of these Lauren Moffatt coats.  Looks like the color-blocking trend is here to stay:)

And we're on our way, to the lives we knew we would play

It took me a while to start off this post and I typed and deleted many times so I think starting it with this line is pretty appropriate.  Tim and I had a pretty productive weekend...it was the first time I hiked Pillboxes in Lanikai.  Honestly, I was expecting it to be a walk in the park because people are always bragging about how easy it is, but when I got there all of that went out the window.  If I didn't hear anything about it before it probably would have been easier because then I wouldn't have any expectations, but it was pretty tough.  Next time, though, I'll be ready.  It was hot and I was exhausted, but we went at noon, so I'm sure I would have felt better if it was morning or late afternoon.  Regardless, I had a great time.  I'd love to give a big thank you to Tim, who's always driving my butt to places he doesn't necessarily want to go, but knows it will make me happy:)  We wanted to eat at Boots and Kimos for lunch, but it was so crowded with tourists we went to Maui Tacos instead; they never let me down.  I've been giving myself excuses to eat really junk food so as of today I'll try to eat mostly healthy foods, after this ice cream cone, of course; I've had two of these today.  In the past few days I've had lots of pastas, tacos, candy, and desserts...not good.

Also, it just dawned on me that graduation is nearly five weeks away and though there's still lots to do as far as homework and projects go, but I'm so ready to get out of school.  It was been a long time coming and I can't say that I'll miss it, but I've put a lot of hard work (mostly) into the last few years and it's finally paying off:)  Anyway, here are some photos from the past few days.

Ps. I realized I haven't said anything about the election...I'm so glad Obama won.  I believe he's moving the country in the right direction and as citizens, we have to have faith and patience in our leaders.  Things won't change overnight, but good things are happening gradually!  I just had to add this photo of Beyonce...I think it's my all-time fav photo of her from theybf.com

Sing with me, just for today

Testing the panoramic setting on my phone.
Yay it's finally Friday!  This might be my last full weekend off in awhile so tomorrow we're spending the day in Kailua.  Don't know if I mentioned this, but I accepted a supervisor position at the old Macy's I interned for during the summer.  It'll prepare me for my future executive position in March:)  Hopefully there isn't a conflict of interest with American Apparel.  I'm still waiting for a call for approval of that (keeping my fingers crossed).  Anyway, this past week wasn't so busy, but it should actually be busy.  Since I don't work at AA so much anymore, and start Macy's next Tuesday, I really should be using my free time to concentrate on my APDM portfolio, internship notebook, and presentation, but I'm not.  Hopefully I'll be inspired to do this sometime soon because deadlines are looming; instead I've been sitting around watching a lot of tv.  Anyway these are some photos of the past week.  Spent Monday playing tourist in Waikiki...that was super fun and the first time in a while that I've rocked in a rocking chair.  I've come to appreciate just sitting around and listening to my surroundings...it's so relaxing and takes me away from the busy worldYesterday we did some of the same and sat in the shade a Kapiolani park.  I wasn't able to really get any photos from Halloween because we stayed at one bar the whole night and I was feeling a little woozy. Hehe

So the weather people are saying it'll be hot and voggy tomorrow.  Wishing this doesn't affect my Saturday plans...
