Best Summer Ever!

This summer has been filled with so many experiences, it has got to be near the top of my list.  The top still belongs to Tokyo.  Though most of it was spent interning at Macy's it was a great way to learn.  I feel much more inclined to become a leader instead of a follower and am currently reading Leadership 101 by John C. Maxwell to further these skills.  Between the internship and school there were only a few weeks, but if you can recall, I made a list in a previous blog and this is what is looks like now:

1. Celebrate end of internship at Mortons
2. Watch a sunrise on the east side.
3. Stop at Giovanni's Shrimp Truck for a garlic hot dog (Is that weird?).
4. Have breakfast by the sea.
5. Go on a scenic hike.
6. Find a job.

Got most of my goals completed besides the scenic hike part, but I still consider this summer a major success.  I still have a whole list of end of year goals I would like to finish and I have yet to cross one off the list so I need to get back on track for sure.  Anyway, here are some photos I took of goals 2 and 4.  Tim and I woke up at 4:45am for this, but we had a great time!  There were bodyboarders, photographers, and even a modeling session and fire dancer.  I was surprised that there were that many people at the beach at that time.

Ps. Just realized I used the word list more than I should have in this post.

The Weekend

This weekend we went to Kahuku to get some garlic shrimp and hot dog (according to my bf, the hot n spicy shrimp from Giovanni's is extrememly hot) and stopped at a beach on the way back.  I can't even tell you the name of the beach we sat on (it's not the one pictured above), but the sand was hot, hot, hot!  It was such a wide stretch of sand from the parking lot to the ocean that I think I got sunburned just trying to get there.

School starts next week so I've been trying to make the most of the end of my summer.  Though it's not like I won't be able to have fun once school starts since I am only taking a couple of classes.  It's my last semester, yay!  I am so excited, yet scared at the same time; having to pay school loans, not having a summer or winter vacation, working full-time...it's overwhelming.

Anyway, enough of my complaining.  Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Fun with colors

Many thanks to my boyfriend, Tim, for introducing me to this website.  It's called Color Scheme Designer and you can basically come up with any color scheme using this.  I am not a designer or anything, but I find it can still be useful when picking out outfits.  I was never really a person who wore lots of color, mostly sticking with blacks, grays, whites, and navy blues, but I definitely try incorporating some soon.  Hope you have as much fun with it as I do!

Waikiki Window Displays

Now that my week break is almost over I need to get my life back in order.  But not before I go the North Shore this weekend: beach, Giovannis, Lanikai acai bowls in Haleiwa (weird, I know), and just good 'ole fun.  I don't know if anyone cares, but I realized when going through my blog, that I haven't had an outfit post in a while...guess I'm gonna have to change that soon.  Anyway, during my internship I still had some time to take photos of window displays in Waikiki, thus, the photos below.  I still can't believe YSL is changing their iconic name to Saint Laurent Paris.  Does this make past pieces obsolete since they will not have the current name on their tags, or more valuable since these pieces are limited and will no longer be made with this name...more valuable I think.

A few photos from LA

On July 18th, Macy's flew me out to LA for an intern summit.  This summit included volunteering at the LA Foodbank, a Warner Bros Studios tour, and executive experiences.  All good things come to an end and my internship has since been completed.  I must say it has been a whirlwind of an experience and I am so honored to have been a part of it.  Below are some photos I took while on the 2-day summit.

I know I've been lacking in posts and since finishing my internship I'm at a bit of a standstill.  School is coming up in about a week and a half, and after working 40 hrs a week for eight weeks, I took it upon myself to take a break.  There are a few goals I would like to cross off the list before summer ends.  They're mostly just fun things though.

1. Celebrate end of internship at Mortons
2. Watch a sunrise on the east side.
3. Stop at Giovanni's Shrimp Truck for a garlic hot dog (Is that weird?).
4. Have breakfast by the sea.
5. Go on a scenic hike.
6. Find a job.

I'm sure things will be added on to this, but that's it for now.

Hello, again...

I don't have time to post an in-depth blog just yet, but just wanted to type this to let you all know, I am still here:)  Many things have happened since my last blog post and I will post about them soon enough, but for now, this will have to do.
One thing I would like to mention, I completed my internship!  It was a great experience and would do it all over again if I had the chance.
I will be back on here soon with a real post, I promise!
